Hey guys, here's an update from the Mayhem Miller article I posted yesterday. We'll be at his next hearing on Friday, so we will have more information at that time.

So Mayhem is out n about again. Wonder if Ariel will use his friendship to muster up an interview?
Thanks for the update
Gobulcoque - Most surprising thing about all this is that he has 100k.
I guess we know who bet against Wandy.
Wow, Thanks OP.
I doubt he has $100k plus $50k for his last bail payment a month ago. He's gotta owe the bail bondsman a boatload.
Dana probably bailing him out, he does keep blaming Dana for everything
Chomas -Gobulcoque - Most surprising thing about all this is that he has 100k.Thats not how it works
Its 10% 10k is nothing to scoff at either way
I'm a Mayhem fan, but the 2nd time he's posted bail in the past month I pray that nothing horrible happens now that he's out. I hope in the near future, we won't be saying "I wish he wasn't granted bail"
OnE LovE!
$100,000 bail would cost you $10,000 for a bail bond. You don't go to court, they can take whatever collateral you put up for the $100,000
This is going to sound cynical... hell, it is cynical.... but,
what's the over/under on his next arrest?

I wonder if he has parents
How can he afford bail so many times
You pay 10% and then owe a bondman 90% right?
Card -
You pay 10% and then owe a bondman 90% right?
Correct on the former, not sure about the latter.
You pay a bondsman a fee for him/her to put up the bond. 10% of what the bail amount is often is the agreed-upon price, but sometimes it's higher, upwards of 20%, when the total bond amount is lower.
Most importantly, at least we know how much he weighs before he cuts!
Chomas -What kind of interest do you pay on a bail bond?
Typically it's a fee you pay. An agreed-upon price that is usually a % of what the total bond amount is.
For example, let's say that Mayhem paid a bondsman $10K for the bondsman posting the $100K bond. If Mayhem shows up to court through disposition, then $100K that the bondsman put up is freed up at the end of the case (bondsman gets it back). Mayhem has paid the $10K fee to the bondsman and the bondsman therefore comes out $10K ahead. Mayhem has paid the bondsman for his services, so to speak.
Lots of times, bondsmen have stuff put up with the county, like houses and whatnot, to have a ton of $$ on reserve. So when the bondsman wants to put up $100K for a bond like this, he/she signs paperwork and the money is tied up with the bond until the end of the case. The bondsman assumes the risk of Mayhem flaking out and fleeing or something like that.
Of course, if Mayhem does flee then the bondsman will have the opportunity to settle for something less than the full $100K.
