Using compound lifts for cardio

Anyone try using compound lifts like hex bar deadlifts, squats, clean and press for cardio doing either high reps or somethig like ten reps every minute on the minute for a period of time.

There is a guy from IG that does a mix of things, heavy weights but insane reps.

Thanks, VU

I have used Hammer Deadlift successfully with fighters I have trained.  Like the Hex DL, it has a better ergonomic design, and seems to have a more comfortable fit than standard dead lift.  Using this during pre-fight conditioning is one of the main ingredients in our program when combined with other exercises in a balanced fashion, creating a metabolic scenario similar to MMA/Grappling competition.

I work out that way. Something like this..

Every 2 or 2.5 minutes

Pullups, kettle bell swings, thruster

Pushups, swings, lunges

Pullups, swings, bodyweight squats.

Which energy system are you trying to improve?

This. You have to identify what you're trying to improve first and then choose your workouts specifically to target that

Anytime I deadlift 450-500 for sets of 8 it’s insane cardio. So yeah, it works
