Vegan diet...Forks Over Knives...Just how hard is

So just how hard is it to do? I just watched part of the documentry Forks Over Knives... It has proven that a vegan diet can turn cancer off. So how hard is it to stay on a diet like this?

Ahaha I was about to say they look sick and I live in BC. I personally am a vegetarian and am way healthier than any Vegan I know. The trick is to do it right.

Veganism seems a little excessive to me but what you could do is start limiting you sugar and sodium intake. Phone Post

kent paul - I saw that film a couple of weeks ago after John Fitch mentioned it on his Twitter account, and i can see the benefits of adopting a Vegan diet but there is no way that i could ever do it because i like fried chicken and chinese bbq spare ribs far to much.

Thats just like a guy who smokes cigs.

" I would quit smoking because it is killing me... BUT just like it way to much..."

So you consider your self way healthier because you can have milk and eggs? Please explain

I'm vegan and I don't find it difficult at all. Theres pretty much equivalents to anything else that people with more conventional diets that are readily available.

That being said, choosing a vegan diet is not a guaranteed path to healthy eating. Greasy burger and fries is a greasy burger and fries whether its made with beef or some kind of meat substitute. Truth be told, I know some people who eat meat who eat a lot healthier than certain vegans.

Let me tell you my honest opinion about all that. First I love like all of us good animal food. I love Sushi, and good meat and also I love the idea of fast food even when I nearly never eat it.;-)

BUT

I have tried to live vegan and it is a big change in your health. You loose weight, you have more energy, you recover faster you have more endurance.

I have lived vegan times, vegetarian times, vegan + fish and vegetarian + fish and of course typical athletes diet with high protein animal products like chicken, cottage cheese, etc.

Here is my personal experience list:

For me best is:

Vegan or Vegan + Fish

I don´t feel an difference in performance when I eat fish in addition to my vegan nutrition. So both work great.

Vegetarian or Vegetarian and fish is o.k. IF you don´t eat extensivly high fat animal products like cheese, cream, etc. but generally it´s not as goood as a vegan diet or vegan+fish diet.

Last and least it´s the typical athletes diet with a lot of chicken, eggs, cottage cheese, etc. I can´t stand it anymore it doesn´t feel good it and my body doesn´t like it.

Honestly I never tried to be vegan to save the planet and I don´t have any ideological reasons for eating this stuff. It is just my honest personal experience trying different diets.

Take care
Björn
