Vegan Keto?

So the vegan chick at work that peddles herbalife to everyone this morning is talking about how she is doing vegan Keto now. I never heard of such a thing and I asked her don't you need to eat meat on Keto and she substitutes fake meat. Is this an actual thing and can you be Vegan in Keto?

I just googled it, there are a bunch of sites listing out vegan keto plans. So I guess that’s a thing.

Just needs to tack on “First 30,” “Paleo,” and “Gluten-Free” to get Trendy Diet Bingo!

She's really into whatever is trendy vegan Keto was a new one and I've never seen it mentioned here and this place is on the forefront of trendy diets.

The ONLY diet anyone should ever be on is Vegan Paleo. Dammit, wake up, people.

You can do vegan keto, but you will need to use vegan protein powders to get your protein macros. Isolated pea protein is one choice, although it’s quite the acquired taste.

Although keto is relatively low to moderate in protein, a true vegan diet will not meet your protein calorie requirements without powders.

20% protein / 5% carbohydrate /75% fat

In an 1800 calorie per day diet, that’s 90 grams of protein. You cannot get that from non-starchy vegetables alone.

The pee protein sounds harsh

She doesn’t each starchy vegetables like potatoes. I told her to try the white diet and just avoid every that’s white. We’ll see what she does since she is the office workout one upper.
