As expected the winner of Saturday's UFC 116 headliner between heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar (4-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and interim title-holder Shane Carwin (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) next will fight undefeated contender Cain Velasquez (8-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC).

UFC president Dana White previously hinted at the plans, and he today confirmed them with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

"Cain fights the winner of this fight, probably as soon as possible," White told MMAjunkie.com. "Cain's been waiting a long time."

The next few hw title fights are going to be awesome. I think The Dana said the winner of JDS/Big Country fight will get the next title fight after Cain

How long are they going to keep Cain sitting on the shelf? He is so young. Let the dude gain some experience. Give him a bum if you have to.

Old news is ancient.

Soon the HW division is gonna be exactly like the LHW division. First Shane gets it, then Cain, then MAYBE Junior Dos Santos, then maybe Brock again, then Murrr, then Nelson, then whoever the ufc signs ETCETC.

Hope Shane or Brock makes it out injury free.....
119 in INDY still needs a main event!

Cain's probably on the last of his contract and they don't want to use his last fight of his contract for somebody else he would beat.   That would mean more money for Zuffa to shell out for the eventual Championship match.
