Yeah, another Vera/Couture thread.
In the past it seemed that a knockdown pretty much guaranteed a 10-8 round.
I can understand a flash knockdown ala Bisping/Kang not warranting a 10-8, but Couture was hurt bad and backtracking. Since nothing else of consequence happened in that round shouldn't it have been 10-8, then a draw at worst for Vera?
If Vera could have followed up with something, anything I'd say yes. All he did was fall on top of Randy and lay there.
If Randy was so hurt how come Vera couldn't land any strikes from the ground?

While that is true in boxing, it is not in MMA. I tend to agree with everything cruedi stated about the topic.
imo a clear win should always be 10-8
