(VIDEO) Dana sets you turkeys straight re Chael

Labrador - There are only really two of our big stars that are dealing with the effects of TRT - Chael Sonnen and Vitor Belfort.

Am I wrong to interpret this as a dig at Hendo?

Definitely.

You think Dana is trying to make an almost imperceptible dig at Hendo that maybe 4 hardcore fans would get?

Or just trying to downplay how many major stars have been reliant on a hormone system many consider controversial and that's just been banned after an ESPN mainstream hatchet piece? lol

Occam's razor leads me to think the latter over the former.

After all, only 4 guys in the UFC took TRT, and it's not like anyone outside the UFC had ever abused TRT.

Dana looks like shit

I thought the same thing when I saw it. No telling what it is but looks like stress or possibly just sick.

I agree. What is wrong with him?

Is anyone even shocked about Zuffa standing up for Chael after the whole Belfort fiasco? it's not a good road to go down for them. Will bite them in the ass very soon.

Dana pretty much came out and said Vitor could juice as much as he liked while he was out of competition and didn't have a fight lined up. That's called enabling. I really have to wonder if after all those so called tests that they done to Belfort while he was down in Brazil wheel kicking dudes unconscious if he was really testing negative. I honestly can't trust Zuffa one bit now, he could have been failing left and right and they would keep it quiet. Just like they did Forrest vs Anderson.

MattyECB -
Lurkdaddy316 - Banned substances are banned but the assertion that he was told OUT OF COMPETITION was different than fight time/post fight is puzzling. Either someone is lying OR the commission isn't conducting things very transparently.

I'll remind you that when Chael was first busted with a T:E of just under 20:

Chael insisted he had filed a TUE, and this was eventually shown to be BS.

Then Chael changed his story to, 'I told Kizer right before the fight I was on TRT -- I'd never hide anything,' but this was also refuted by Kizer and shown to be BS (DESPITE Chael making this claim repeatedly during his freakin' NSAC hearing, the balls on this guy lol)

Then Chael changed his story to, 'My manager spoke with Kizer about getting me a TUE for this fight, which was also described by Kizer as "ridiculous," and, "strange," since he had a one off conversation with Lindland some time ago, but not in relation to Sonnen, any other fighter or any fight in particular -- it was just a general convo about the TUE procedure lol

Sonnen had also told some reporters and news media initially that he had hypogonadism since he was young, and then changed this story to say he had been diagnosed mid 20s lol So ya, Great fighter and awesome promoter, and he finally seem to have a genuine excuse here, but I wouldn't trust his administrative compliance or word until we have definitive proof and a response from the AC

(who, admittedly, are also so Godamn inept they could easily be to blame lol)

...just an all around clusterfuck

Wasnt it 17:1?

Also the T/E2 ratio at 20 isnt very high actually bit low.

This quote from MMA Junkie is one of many that show Chael isn't telling the whole truth, he's just a master at spinning things:

Regarding the list of banned substances:
"... you could just follow the news closely enough (as you'd assume a "UFC Tonight" employee might) to hear that another fighter just got popped for using the same drug you're using, and in the same state, and that should maybe raise a red flag or two"

I.e. There's no excuse for Sonnen not being aware what he was taking was banned. If he needed it, then don't accept the fight against Wanderlei/Vitor until you're clean.

Don't let Chael fool you boys and girls, he had many ways to go about this and, as someone's who has been caught doping before, he took the absolutely worst route and got busted.
