Dogmeat 1 - The video isn't working for me but for the record Kingdoms was a stiff style prowrestling organisation and all the bouts were worked. I discovered the UWFi and Kingdoms during the mid-to-late nineties when I was trying to track down Pancrase and RINGs. I got into to both of them for a while but once you watch enough matches it is pretty obvious that they were all pro-wrestling and not MMA matches.

Sakuraba (along with guys like Tamura, Takeda and Kanemura) were pretty good at making the stiff style matches look somewhat realistic. They were quite willing to let their opponents hit them with real strikes in order to sell a match. Because of that, and also because of the fact that they more sparring matches with pre-determined finishes than fully rehearsed matches, they can pass for real fights. However other than a couple of double crosses and accidents, they were all worked.

I'm not so sure this is true.

Larry Parker fought Saku (and lost) in Kingdom, in Jan 1998 IIRC. Larry did an interview with FcFighter magazine (I might even still have the page) and talked about the match. Larry and Saku had no choreographed techniques or discussion pre match. Larry was uncertain going into the match if it would be legit, though it was approached by both parties as just another fight. He said Saku threw a real hard high kick that told him it was real. Larry lost and he still didn't try to say it was worked. Saku won so you cant say either threw the fight without the other knowing.

The Parker fight is one of 4 Kingdom fights Saku had that I feel are legit (all were against Americans)

I'm very upset this link isn't working any longer. :(

My buddy and I watched this fight very closely about a month ago....We came to the conclusion that is was a work.

Gotta see this.

Thanks.

Total work. Moti is tough but he wouldn't last longer than 2-3 minutes tops with Sak at that time.

Seemed like a legit fight to me. The way Saku was cranking that arm at 8:00, had bad intentions, looked like it popped too.

Thank you, Pro Ice...and Happiness Bunny/ranier wolfcastle
