Video one of my son's ippons

First video of series of 6. On the first matches he is 6 years old. He is 10 now. He has a very solid base and I am introducing him to shime and kansetsu waza. This year placed 2nd in the US jr. open. Lost the last match for a shido, I don't have on youtube yet. This video gets stuck in the 3sec just scroll to the side and it will go. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Those kids showed some great technique. I'm jealous your son has better technique than me though.

The poise, confidence and movement are unreal for that young age. teckniques are outstanding.

wow. I learned stuff from your kid.

Thank you guys.
Tomoe nague is his tokui waza. He is able to throw with it in every competition. He wanted to learn it so bad since he was little. He got the desire by watching world and Olympic videos w/ me. The confidence that he steps on the mat is from a psychological technique that works for most of kids. It took me years to be on the psychological stage that he is now. Needless to say that he is my best student and have excellent grades academically. Enough of bragging about my kid. Sorry!

what's the technique for confidence?

signaljammer - what's the technique for confidence?

Quite simple:
Most kids (particular under 8) fantasize of being a super hero. My kid use to watch dragon ball Z and often fantasying of being Goku. I just capitalized his fantasy prior to the tournaments. By the time he stepped on the mat, he was Goku and he meant business. I told him that even Goku loses some times but he always comes back stronger. It worked! Now days he is 10 and he doesn't fantasize anymore, but the work is done. I did the same w/ my daughter. When they were younger, I watched their favorite cartoons w/ them every chance I had and it made them feel special (I ended up enjoying the cartoons as well) =)
I tell parents to do the same with their kids. Unfortunately most parents find it silly...

wow, brilliant. Too bad I can't really use it on myself!

What was your daughter's favorite character?

Sorry for taking so long to answer you.
My daughter's favorite character was power puff girls. It was painful to watch this cartoon with her. I didn't enjoy this one. But every time it was on she would take me by the hand to watch.

WOW! You sir have an extremely talented kid.
