The Rings KOK 32 man tournament was an open weight tournament that played out over a course of three events. The winner of the tournament would have to win a total of 5 fights including 3 fights on the final night This tournament was stacked with some of the best fighters in the world, Dan Henderson, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Renzo Gracie, Alistair Overeem, Jeremy Horn, Gilbert Yvel, Kiyoshi Tamura, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, Mikhail Illoukhine, Maurice Smith, Dave Menne, and Kohsaka

Thanks for the hook-up.There were alot of KOK tourneys.
One of the best tourneys ever. So many high level guys and great fights. The different rules (no head punches on ground) made the fights very technical. The second tournament the next year was also good.
This one and the 2000 one are when Nogueira really started to shine and showed the most effective Bjj for MMA in those days. I used to watch them on video tapes lol.

I think that Henderson being the smallest man in the tournament had some influence over the judges. I believe Dan was around 190 lbs compared to guys like Yvel, and Nogueira who were in the 220 lb range

Actually if I remember correctly they did consider weight disadvantages in judging.
