Pro Ice - Yeah Tito fought as a amateur (no pay) in his first UFC because of the scholarship, not exactly sure when that changed
was confused because he said he was amateur but I thought he got paid under the table anyways.from the UFC and that porn store he worked @.at least that's how I recall reading it from his book.

Getting paid on "the books" would have affected his scholarship at Cal State Bakersfield, obviously
Some day soon Tito will age out of the UFC. It happens to everyone. But he was fun to watch for quite a long time. He can still compete at the highest level of the sport in the deepest division for 10 years now.

Jacob Ortiz's voice sounded deeper then more than it does now. Would steroid use affect the voice as far as making it higher pitched?
I remember actually renting that West Coast NHB fighting tape from the local video store.
The event had chick fights where the chicks flashed after their fights.

I read his book and can't believe this man lived on to earn success in life. Wrestling really did save his life, and made him become a great fighter!
bryanand - The story on Tito/Mezger was that Tito fought as an amateur because he was on a wrestling scholarship at the time...I don't know if that is true or not.
He was at Cal State Bakersfield. He wrestled at 190. He was an average DI wrestler. He was a 2x undefeated, and I believe unscored upon, California JuCo Champ.
