He's only 32, and was fighting since 18/19!
The guy is still very young by MMA standards. He is still fast and crisp.
being hugged to death by Couture did slow him down a bit, but it looks like now Vitor is back and in contention.
Does anyone else agree that his striking is on the same level as Silva?
When was the last time someone beat Vitor standing?
Alistair Overeem dude.
I think he is in his prime right now.
toshii - Alistair Overeem dude.
It was a guillotine choke.
And Overeem is a top level striker. he did not give vitor fits when they fought. He simply caught during a transition to the ground when overeem was on his back.
Alistair had Vitor out on the feet, which is the only way Vitor could have let himself get submitted.
Yes, first fight, Overeem beat em up everywhere, had em on queer street on the feet. Cant remember second fight.
The first fight was even, but Overeem had more takedowns. THen Overeem caught Vitor with a knee in the clinch and Vitor took Overeem down, and got choked out. But the knee had him fucked up.
The steroids helped Vitor reach fame early in his career, but he would have been best off without them from the start. now he's fighting close to 50 pounds lighter than he was at his heaviest now...good to see him back in the game, basically reborn.
Vitors been beat on the feet many times. Chuck, sakaraba droped him with kicks, Randy beat him in the clinch, Anyway, I do think we may be seeing the best Vitor. Its hard to say tho, the question of Vitor is his heart. If he looses even a a minute, he is done. We havnt seen him in that position in a while. We really dont know if anything has changed
Questioning is heart is a little harsh. He defended against titos g.n.p in the final round completly gassed , the fight with chuck was razor close , and didn't he break both his hands against Sak.

He lost all those fights u mentioned which just proves my point
He is pretty much in his competitive prime right now.
