Vladimir Matyushenko injured!

Sorry if this as already been posted.

Vladimir Matyushenko was being looked at as a potential replacement opponent for the injured Phil Davis against Rashad Evans in the UFC 133 main event, but now he himself has suffered an injury taking him out of the card.

The UFC announced his injury Thursday evening, and added that Matt "The Hammer" Hamill is stepping in for Matyushenko against Alexander Gustafsson.

Hamill looks to rebound from his UFC 130 main event loss to Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, a loss that snapped a five fight winning streak. The loss was also just the third in his 13-fight career.

Gustafsson lost one veteran opponent, but he's still getting a big name for the card. The 24-year-old Swede holds an 11-1 career record, with his sole loss coming to the event's planned headliner in Davis. His UFC record is 3-1, and in his three wins he's stopped each opponent.

UFC 133 takes place from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Penn. on August 6, now headlined by the light heavyweight rematch between Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans. There's no word if this fight will remain on the Spike TV prelims or be promoted to the main card. Phone Post
