Reported this morning from Fighters Only Magazine Wanderlei Silva and Rafael Alejarra (his Strength and conditioning coach) ended their partnership after almost 4 years training together. Alejarra joined the Wand team when he moved to Vegas helping the axe murder set up his now famous Wanderlei Training Center.
Alejarra was also the S & C coach almost all of the Wand Fight Team.
Wanderlei has joined back up with his old Chute Box S&C coach Rafael Cordeiro. What's this mean to us. Well maybe we will get to see the old Wanderlei back in action. Silva has been criticized in all the MMA forums the past few years for his lack of conditioning and his losses. With the new found ability to breath through his nose again, and switching back up to Rafael Cordeiro, Bisping may be in a whole world of trouble. This partnership between Wanderlei and Cordeiro is only temporary as of now. Stay tuned to BUDDHASPORT.COM we will be calling over to Wanderlei later today.

Wow, this is surprising.
Honestly though, Wanderlei is my favorite fighter but I dont know exactly how much his recent performaces have to do with S&C rather than the wear and tear his body has absorbed over the years.
I mean technically hes still a young man. But hes had almost 45 fights at this point and I am not sure how many he truly has left in him whther his S7C is off the charts or not.
I still think he could beat Bisping monday-saturday and twice on sunday, but that isnt sayign much IMO.
"With the new found ability to breath through his nose again" .. lol
Wand's just old and beaten man. No strength and conditioning coach can fix all the wars he's been through.
Wand has looked very stiff on his last fights. Like he has been overtrained or something.
VITIMIN S!
I knew about this a few months back, but hadn't seen it reported and was wondering if it was valid.
Hope Alejarra finds some other work as he is an awesome guy.

Having that kind of surgery on your nose makes an insane amount of difference though, I can speak from experience.
I dont see this helping him much either
He was great because of his aggression and viscousness, which seems to be missing
Hoping that Wanderlei knocks Bisping so silly that it looks like Henderson hit him with a pillow.
Not because I dislike Bisping, but because rooting against Wanderlei Silva is sacrilegious /queue sandstorm
RyannVonDoom -???
That's what I was thinking. Alejarra didn't seem like the right fit for him. Hopefully Cordiero brings back the fire and agression.
(edit) Perhaps Wand getting stabbed a couple months back helps bring back some fire.
Huge Wand fan since the early days of Pride.
But Im afraid it might be a case of:

When has Wanderlei ever had problems with conditioning? lol. Never. That's when....
I agree. with you!!!!... mostly other forums talk about how he looked gassed in the Franklin fight... ..
Being only 32 or 33, I hope Wand has another 3 or 4 years in him. In saying that, match-ups V Crocop and Hunt where he received some serious, heavy duty strikes to the face, must've taken its toll on Wand. He looks tentative, slower and like a man that has been in some major wars.
Being a fan of Wand, I hope the switch back to Chute for s& c will help, as I also hope the drop in weight class will also benefit him.

franklin fight
it seems like wand might be gunshy under the ufc rules too (no knees to head of downed opp, no stomps/soccer kicks). he lost some of his main tools and doesn't have the repertoire of say a shogun to adapt as well.
chuck fought a smart fight against wandy, keeping him at the end of his fists, using his wrestling. but wandy was able to knock him down and almost eek out a win. rampage was a lucky eyes closed KO as we've seen wandy brutalize him twice before. against franklin he did look gassed, weight cut didn't work out well. he still killed jardine, hehe.
i think he still has a couple more exciting wins left in him if he can put it all together. this is the first break he's had in a while, hopefully he can come back looking a bit like his old self.
this is good news - I hope he goes back to creating strategies for each fight & uses the technique he has instead of just brawling to please the fans
Good interview. Awesome entrance.

After all the extreme amounts of over hype Wanderlei got for his S and C program, it's should be funny to see how his nuthuggers spin this one. Wont quite be as bad as when BJ splits from Marv the messiah, and Messiah is never heard from again in the sport of mma.

Again, your the biggest nuthugger on this forum so fuck off twat!
I hear GSP calling you now to trim his ball hairs. Better run before Firas, Tj Grant, and GSP force you to get bukkakeed by them.
Shoo fly!
