Was Anderson pretending?

I know that after the initial shot to the jaw, Rogan kept saying that Anderson was "pretending" he was hurt.. What if he wasn't? What if he was already in la la land when he was trying to slip the other punches that knocked him out? Phone Post 3.0

by the looks of things he WANTED to get KO'd.... so whatever.

He is tired of fighting and its pretty obvious.

I thought that shot and the right hand Chris landed earlier both rocked him, only after did Silva go full clown.

It was similar to the old "smile when your opponent hits you" thing boxers do when they were in actuality hurt by a punch.

RPBJJ - by the looks of things he WANTED to get KO'd.... so whatever.

My thoughts too.

It was almost as if Andy was saying, ”Come on Chris, I'm trying to give you an opportunity to win, take it. I gave you a free heel hook already and you couldn't finish with it, maybe I'll slowly move my head right into the path of your left hand and hope for the best.” Phone Post

Lol at everyone thinking he was pretending or it was a fix or a work etc. It was just a clear ko. It pains me to say it as an Anderson fan but it is what it is. He tried what he always does and unfortunately got caught. He is a pro fighter and no way in hell did he do this on purpose etc. He would have too much pride to do shit like that. Any of us would. You guys are flat out retarded. Phone Post 3.0

I think he absolutely was hurt by the first shot. He did the fake stanky leg to goof around and try to pretend it didn't hurt him, but it did.

I didn't think there was a person alive that would think the humiliatation of getting KO'd, on the biggest stage in the World, all while jeapordizing MILLIONS and MILLIONS of DOLLARS, would be some sort of "master plan", now I know...

Thank you. And VTFU. Phone Post 3.0

I'm an Anderson fan and was pulling for him in this fight, but this all seems pretty straight forward to me...Anderson stood against the fence against Bonnar, put his hands down and stuck his chin out with Griffin etc. etc. in those fights he pulled off amazing shit and won...BUT, he could have easily been caught with something and KO'ed.

In this fight if things had gone a little differently he might have danced around with his hands down and landed the perfect shot...instead he got caught.

Exactly.

Or that he "disrespected the fans/sport" by not trying to finish.

He didn't do much offense but he aimed to KO. He did what he's often done, clown and throw his opponent off, and tried some quick attack that, you know, have won him countless fights before.

Then why the hell did he just sign a ten fight contract?  Why did he also say he looks forward to fighting another ten years if he can?  Are you saying this onset of boredom happened suddenly in the middle of the fight?

Considering he did that same thing x2 or x3 times in the fight, id say he got cocky, started playing & got clipped. EndOfStory. Its a shame for Chris, really. Phone Post

This. Hell if he wanted to throw the fight he would have let Chris, who is known as a grappling and wrestling monster, finish the leglock not let him beat him at his own game.

Warmaster put it best...

  1. did NOT throw that fight. If he'd wanted to throw it he would have just tapped on a leg lock. Throwing it is ridiculous.

Haha truth.

You can clearly see that Anderson sees the left hook coming, and froze in matrix mode waiting to get it. Obvious work is obviously obvious. Phone Post 3.0
