Its still plausible that all those things just happened because its possible Jones did want to go on to the next challegner which is a fight fans have been wanting too but its also all too convenient for the feeding the Zuffa media cycle too.
Personally, i wanted Jones to rematch Gus first and make the DC fight even bigger. He would have fought Gus again anyhow had he beaten DC.
Im not doubting that contract/fight negotiations dont take time and have differnces, of course they do. And I believe Jones does want to take on the biggest fights but it still all too convenient the way Jones ended up signing for Gus anyhow after all the hoopla.

Like, i believe sometimes it comes down to the money per fight that are negotiated on each fight? Like when someone signs to a 5 fight deal, each fight is not set at a price is it? or is it? Depends on each contract?
