Watch Ali and Tyson on youtube.

king@queens - pharochuck: you're a complete boxing noob. i hate to say it because i know you love cassius clay, and anybody that loves clay is good in my book.

but the truth of the matter is that Ali had his jaw broken by ken norton and KO'd, and was knocked out by frazier in Ali-Frazier 1.

Tyson would demolish him. A young Tyson with cus d'amato and kevin rooney was so mentally tough, that he was IRON.

You call someone a boxing n00b and proceed to say that Ali was knocked out by both Ken Norton and Joe Frazier?

Neither of those guys knocked him out.

Awesome vid thanks for sharing. That being said there was NO athlete alive like Tyson during that day. LMFAO @ people that cannot make the difference between todays athletes and yesteryears.

Mike Tyson's own handlers in the late 80s felt that he wouldn't do well against Ali. It's written.

Why is this a debate?

Ali VIA Jedi-Mind-Trick, round 12.

not unconcious, but he was TKOed against both of those fighters.

Actually, he wasn't.

In Ali vs Frazier I, Frazier won via Unanimous Decision.

In Ali vs Norton I, Norton won via Split Decision.

Obviously, Ali won the last two fights against both opponents.

Ali in his prime was a very smart boxer with a great gameplan that can be used against anyone, i believe Ali would win against Tyson if both were in their prime. No one compares to Ali and what he did in boxing, he made miracles happen!

Chronic1982 - tyson could do everything frazier could do 10X better

im sorry but i just dont see it. tyson had the perfect style to beat ali

foreman on the otherhand had the perfect style to beat tyson

if Foreman is > Tyson then Ali is > than Tyson!

Ali all the way, he had a boxing style that when done right no one can defend.

Tyson's combination of speed and power and torque behind those punches were just UNREAL.

His bobbing/weaving skills were obviously sick as well.

Lots of misinformation on this thread.

Ali was dropped by Frazier's trademark leaping left hook, HE WAS NOT KO'D he lost a split decision and then won the next two fights, almost killing Frazier in the third fight.

He was not KO'd by Ken Norton, he had his jaw broken in that fight, but lost a decision.

The only man to stop Ali was Larry Holmes, in a very sad fight where Holmes constantly looked at the ref for mercy and held back.

Tyson was an awesome physical boxing machine, but Ali would have mentally broken him in a fight. Tyson was broken by far lesser boxers even early on. Tyson's problem has always been his mind.

Lol at taking someone's reasoned argument based around stylistic matchups and applying the old "if A beat B, and B beat C then A would beat C argument"

Now apply that logic to the Foreman/frazier/ali triangle

Sammy Sosa has nothing on Babe Ruth...nothing

I just think Tyson's style would have gutted Ali.

Wouldnt have gone long enough for any backfists or nonsense to come into play.

Attention Tyson Nutriders:

There is a fightbeat.com article which states that five people associated with Mike Tyson picked MUHAMMAD ALI in a matchup. This can be found in Thomas Hauser's biography of Ali.

This list includes:

KEVIN ROONEY, Teddy Atlas, and Bill Clayton

Those of you saying that Frazier was a poor man's Tyson, have you stopped to think that Frazier was far more mentally tough than Tyson?

All of you people who are so confident in a Tyson win should pay attention to the honest opinion from someone like Kevin Rooney who would know Tyson better than ANYONE

when they say the frazierx10 thing they mean physically. norton broke ali's jaw in the 2nd round alit fought 1o more rounds with a broken jaw against a guy with pretty good power. ali was a tough tough guy. the left hook that frazier put him down with in their first fight was one of the best left hooks ever thrown by a great left hooker and ali got up and fought on. ali was just too tough for tyson

Ali all the way. Ali could take out Tyson at the fucking weigh in. If you were building a perfect fighter to beat Tyson, you would come up with Ali. Mental game and boxing style.
