Watch Rafa breakdance in Korea

At some stage it's no longer about moves but about movement, right?

Look how much fun he's having. I'd love a chance to get wrecked by him for a round

You know that Arthur C Clarke quote? It goes something like "Any technology sufficiently advanced enough will be indistinguishable from magic"

I almost feel like you can replace "Technology" with "Technique/Skill" and you'd be describing the Mendes bros.

No one has had better BJJ then Rafa IMO

Never subbed and he had his guard passed ONCE in his black belt career, and that was in his first world finals against Cobrinha

If you dont see how ridiculous that is, I don’t know what to tell you lol

I dont think he has ever even been in trouble from a submission attempt, only thing I can think of was against Cobrinha in ADCC and those were some footlock attempts that he would have never tapped to anyway

The GOAT

I'm very blown away by Rafa, but I still think Roger Gracie's accomplishments haven't been beaten yet.

I don't think he's been subbed once since blue belt, and his few losses at black belt have been narrow points victories. When you look at the far bigger W column, it's submission after submission after submission.

I also think it's worth noting that he came out against Buchecha after a long retirement and submitted him. Our current best (besides Roger).

But let's not take away too much from the breakdancing wizard ;-)

The biggest knock on Rafa is that he never entered Absolutes. Which is understandable being a featherweight but, then again you see Caio doing it consistently for a while a few years ago.

Well, he did in that one No Gi tournament and pretty much has a draw with Rodolfo, and then they gave the decision to Rodolfo

It was a masterclass on stopping a monster trying to pass your guard

Also, pretty big difference in entering Absolutes as a FW then someone MW and up

Who is the lightest guy to win the Absolutes at the world's or ADCC? Jacare?

I dont think Caio did it in any big tournaments and no one he faced is the level of Rodolfo that I can think of, but I may be wrong

Rafa has the highest bjj IQ imo. The options he sees in the time he sees them is incredible. The things he does to the highest level of competition is incredible.

Roger has achieved more though with some insane runs like submitting everyone at ADCC and double golding. But he was also the old times Buchecha, massive man with insane jiujitsu. Just like that old Marcelo saying about weight and skill.

I change my mind but I think Rafa is the GOAT as well.
