Amazing performance by Georgio Petrosyan. He's such a solid technical fighter - constantly cutting angles, perfect movement, and always one step ahead of his opponents.
It was so impressive watching him force Zambidis and Sato to fight his fight.
It's really a shame that this sport doesn't get more coverage and viewers in the US, because it's really exciting.
I can't help but think that if someone got behind K-1 in the states the way Zuffa did with the UFC that it would catch on and the talent level would even increase.
If you haven't seen it I'm sure there's going to be repeats on HDNET.
i cant wait to hear a bunch of ignorant fans boo during k-1 fights
I agree, K 1 is fucking exciting to watch
The head of FEG USA is Mike Kogan. Talk about an uphill fucking struggle.
woohoo, hopefully be on in the uk sometime in next few months :/
K1 is a lot of fun. Would love to see it in the States or Canada.
Petrosyan's head movement, footwork and "fight eye" is just amazing to watch.
Great fights!
Fuck, i must have missed it.

Ya other then an HDnet deal K-1 exposure is non existant in the US. How does he still have a job?
Joe you know if HDNet showed or will show the S-Cup from last night? Haven't been able to find any videos of any of the fights.
FEG is reluctant because there are no potential K-1 superstars that can represent the US besides Mo and American fight audiences likes Grapping and Boxing..
the thing with Petrosyan is he can mix his Kickboxing with traditional Muay Thai, he's that versatile..I think if Buakaw can comeback next year with his S-Cup title and fight Petrosyan, it could be the biggest MAX fight in 2011.. When Petrosyan fought Buakaw it was a straight Muay Thai rules and Petrosyan was so stiff in that fight, ofcourse Muay Thai rules plays well with Buakaw
Would be cool for Masato to come out of retirement to give Petrosyan a big fight
Yeah you'd think as steamrolling as UFC currently is, someone with lots of money would see the potential of K1 and try to get on the K1 bandwagon to blow it up.
I have never met one boxing or mma fan who didn't like K1. They might prefer boxing or mma, but K1 is always intriguing.
Maybe Strikeforce having events where half is K1/half is mma, and build up the sport like that. They already have the perfect posterboy in Alistair to promote both.
CRBMoney14 - Would be cool for Masato to come out of retirement to give Petrosyan a big fight
at the Post fight intervie, Petrosyan said that the only fighter that matters to him at this point is Masato..I hope Masato obliges even for a single comeback fight

Well with no resources it's not exactly an easy job to do, but all you need to know about the guy is he was brought on board for Dynamite USA.

They already have a few Golden Glory fighters under contract, plus with Saki planning on returning to MMA next year. Would love to see a K1/Strikeforce co-promotion one night a year.

I remember when Carter Williams looked like he was going to be the next big thing.
I think if K-1 started becoming big in the US they would have a bunch of new American fighters in short order. There's a lot of guys with striking backgrounds that really just want to strike, but learn grappling because MMA is the only real game in town outside of boxing.
I would kill someone to go to a K1 event.

Yeah, Schiavello has been trying to get me to go to one for a while. I've got to make one of the big Grand Prix events in Japan one of these days.
