Watchmen, 26 emmy nominations?

WOW, this show was decent, good even but far from great. 26 emmy nominations is ludicrous.

Emmy nominations and Academy awards have nothing to do with quality and everything to do with politics.

This is one of the best examples of that I have ever seen. I remember a time when critic reviews were about the art itself. I generally pay little attention to these things but this was so egregious.

I see 11 nominations, it seems there was a shortage of good limited series as 6 nominations are in just 2 categories

I refused to watch that horseshit after the reviews.

Maybe Lovecraft Country will get 27 emmy nominations!

It was good for most of it's run, the last episode completely fell apart. And the lead actress was annoying, she sure as hell doesn't deserve an award for that. She plays the same character every movie she is in, loud and annoying.

Black ppl gud white ppl bad.... 26 emmy noms.

Show was a rip off of the Snyder with a convoluted plot and laughable plot twists like the comical black Dr Manhattan.

If the plot didn't boil down to "white people are evil" no one would ever give a shit about this show.

Lol. Probably will. His estate should sue HBO for using his name to market a show that has nothing to do with his works.

I found the idea that Dr Manhattan was in love and suddenly vulnerable to man made weapons to be the biggest stretch. That is a complete retcon and a stupid one.

Lovecraft Country was ok, it did seem they are making the lead out to be a bit dim though. He gets told about a foreign silver car which immediately appears in an alley and he fails to notice. It saves him in a car chase and he fails to notice, then it is in the driveway of a huge mansion and he fails to notice. Is he blind? He and his uncle read Lovecraft novels and make no connection with those monsters in the woods? Seriously?

It was good. Even very good in my book.

It had good parts, but the core premise was garbage. There is no way Dr Manhattan falls in love again and him being vulnerable? Nope.

Why again?
It all happens at the same time, doesn't it? Have you learned nothing?
