I was surprised to see Chris had the advantage over Anderson. Was this the first fight Anderson didn't have an advantage? I also think it played a part in Anderson miss-judging his distance when Chris landed the shot.
I thought Silva was still 1'2 inch longer?
i believe the reach difference is less than an inch, which really isn't an advantage at all. Maybe a quarter inch.
Bonnar has an 80 inch "reach."
Not that it matters. Wingspan is a meaningless measurement. It's possible for a guy to have a shorter overall winspan than his opponent but have longer arms (eg Floyd Mayweather and Oscar De La Hoya). Jones has a massive "reach" advantage against Gustafsson on paper, but Gustafsson has said repeatedly that when they met in person and compared arm lengths that Jones' arms weren't that much longer.
Until Zuffa starts doing arm length measurements, we won't know what the real "reach" statistics are.

Just measuring arms isn't accurate, when your in your stance your front shoulder is pointed towards your opponent. If my shoulders are wider than my opponents and our arms are the same I will have a reach advantage because my shoulder puts my arm that much closer. Your jab sets the distance, I'm pretty sure this is why they measure wingspan.

but even then, shouldn't it be nose or chin to knuckles or fingertips, instead of straight wingspan.
Some people have fatter, bigger, or heads that stick out further than others.
Some guys also may have long ass fingers, which i would assume doesn't mean much when punching.
Look, it don't matter.
The only thing that matter is that Anderson Silva got clowned and knocked the fuck out.

The snap back right hand did more than the reach advantage to throw Anderson off of his dodging game. I'm sure I've never seen him hit by one of those in his career.
