Prior to his fight 2nite there was a legit reason why people in the know considered Chris the top prospect at MW.
Not many fighters could take a bout against Maia on notice like that and be considered the fav to win.

He is a top 5 MW in the UFC.
He performed the way most thought he would 2nite,earning a Dec on short notice against such elite opposition warrants that rank.
He will be in the mix long after Anderson retires.
Ive been thinking the last 20 mins and people need to accept Weidman into the fold.
If you know how much he evolved his BJJ since picking it up thats impressive all alone..but the man is just 8-0, this is his 4th W in the UFC in 10 months. IIRC this is not the first bout he picked up on short notice.
