Weighted dips/pullups

I have been doing dips and pullups for a while (unweighted) and want to start doing weighted ones . What weight should I start with ?

Should I start with 2 kgs , 5kgs, 10kgs ? What will make it harder but not impossible ?

I started out at 10 lbs. That's brutal to me. I am weak.

a little off-topic, but how are you doing weighted dips/pullups? Are you using a belt, if so.. is it the one from ironmind.com? that one's a little pricey at $50, i wonder if there are cheaper ones? I know, i know.. i'm a cheap bastard.

you can just hold a dumbell between your legs

I hang the weights in a rope around my neck

I started at 25# on both, felt like 10 was too easy. But I was doing high reps of dips at the time, and relatively high(multi sets of 5-12) reps of pullups.

I just put the db between my legs.

when i started, i looped a regular belt through a plate, then wore it like flava flav.
