Weird situation (Diego brandao)

On the iPhone app and on the whole page there isn't one Diego thread?

Is this because tuf isn't seen as relevant?

Is it because his record has losses on it?

Only tuf related post was about Dobson and his annoying laugh!?

I think a very exciting style with such quick submissions and unrivaled aggression warrants at least one thread.

So what is everybodys thoughts on the tuf 14 featherweight winner?

WAR DIEGO!! Phone Post

To be honest I haven't been following this season of TUF, so last night was the first good look I've had at Brandao.

Clearly has talent, powerful strikes, slick groundgame. Still raw though, lunging in like that is a great way to get KTFO, and it nearly cost him. Exciting fighter though, look forward to seeing him again.

Great fight btw, has to be one of the best 1 round fights I've seen, packed a lot of action into 5 minutes. Maybe not quite the drama of Diaz Vs Daley, but pretty close.

That was a hell of fight, I like Diego a lot.  I think the fact he is still 'raw' makes him so exciting.  Like a young Wandy, but with more skills.

He draws silva as an inspiration buts seems to have a more technical version of wandy's brawling style.

Cautious but overwhelming killer instinct and great Bjj.

Angles and distance are all great the only really question seems to be the cardio (maybe wrestling). Reminds me of a featherweight thiago alves crossed with wanderlei.

After watching the season and seeing him losing his mind fighting for his family trying to help his mother buy a house, I have become a fan.

The fact he is friends and trains at jacksons and is friends with Jose Aldo and I see a bright future.

The intimidation factor is there which we haven't seen in a while Phone Post

Haven't seen his pre-TUF fights but I'd wager most of his losses were a result of coming in too wild and leaving himself open like he did last night. If he can tighten up his defence whilst keeping his aggression he can be a title contender some day. Phone Post

I want to say that while Diego was great, Bermudez really improved drastically from the house and looked great as well. Phone Post

That armbar he threw on Bermudez was nasty. He reminded me of Fedor the way he just swivelled his hips and slapped it on all most instantaneous from the bottom.

I'm really looking forward to seeing him fight again. Phone Post

Dobson ftw!

Maybe a stupid question, but is Brandao a Mormon?

MMA fighting doesn't exactly strike me as an activity the LDS church approves of, but what do I know... ;)

kids got a lot of potential to be a great fighter

Diego is brutal and proved that he's well-rounded tonight. Big fan of him during the show and it's nice to see him show that he's got a ground game to go with his phenomenal stand-up. Phone Post

he kind of reminds me of aldo

He is some serious danger for the featherweight-division..

exactly why the move to jacksons is such a good move.

like melvin guillard with a sick bjj game. Is striking and gamplanning is going to be alot smarter and he has the speed/power/aggression to give anyone in that division problems.

he didn't look as strong when he was backing up but if he continues to give such dangerous bursts and adds the cardio to keep it up all fight it is a very hard style to "survive".

a trend alot of the top guys are showing (JDS,SILVA,ALDO) is that dangerous burst over the length of the fight.

whos next?

i dont really know the division that well and i only followed this season to hang out with an old friend.
TUF was a commmon interest

 nice fight for sure

Art Corvelay - I think it's absolutely because very few people on this forum have been following this season of TUF, and because he has numerous losses to opponents who aren't UFC-level.

He's a talented guy and I hope his finish-or-be-finished style continues despite affiliation with Jackson's. I saw him for the first time tonight and enjoyed watching his submission finish.

Diego is an awesome talent, the losses are at 155 we dropped him to 145 when we started managing him, undefeated there, through the TUF house and won the Finale, was very proud to have been in his corner. Big things to come from him for sure.
