WFA III ...more brawls...more blood... more balls

My son found some old MMA Dvd’s when cleaning out the garage , mostly King of the Cage vids few Pride FC. So found this WFA level 3 event , as it recall it was touted as The Fight Club meets the Nightclub , promoted by John Lewis and John Huntington, a Vegas nightclub owner.

WFA had some great fights in their first two events and this 3rd event was their last I think.

Just starting up its got girls dancing in cages with stripper polls and a laser lightshow and festive atmosphere…the event is billed a DESERT DESTRUCTION , I put their motto for the evnet in thread title.

Frank Trigg vs Hallman in main event

Marvin Eastman vs Alex Steibling

JOsh Thomson, Mike Van Arnsdale. Shaolin Riberio, Jason Black etc on the card.

Todd Lally vs Jeff Curran on the undercard to start the card I think.

Show starts and its a young BRUCE BUFFER getting ready to start the introductions…the DVD cover also had a blurb saying " Featuring an interview with JOE ROGAN from Fear Factor …will have to see what year this was…

Anybody out there attend this event?

WFA…oh wait.

I was there. I think it was the same weekend as ufc 40 maybe? Someone got a low blow that stopped the fight. The testicle iirc had been knocked past the guys kidney and broke his clavicle. I could be wrong about that detail. It was a great show with dancers everywhere.

Frank Trigg nailed Dennis Hallman right in the beanbag.  Hallman. couldn't continue after five minutes so Trigg won.  LOL @ pushing Hallman's nut up and breaking the clavicle.  You do know what the clavicle is, right?  It's the collarbone.

Alistair Overeem did knee Cro Cop’s testicle up into his abdomen.

Indeed I am aware of the anatomy. Did you see that shot to the pills? I believe that it was twisted and he did actual damage to it.

I dont think it was that weekend. Before UFC 40.

Was it in the Joint at HRH?

Nah. At least I dont think so. Maybe 1 and or 2 were tho.

Yeah I was at WFA 1 and 2. Some great fights.

Anyone remember a huge construction arm used in one event, where it was used to do overhead filming?

I was definitely at one them at the Joint.

Zuffa bought the entire promotion just for rampages contract as I recall. Never caught a show.

I was at the first 3 WFA events. The first 2 where at the Hard Rock and this one was at The Aladdin. They had some good matchups

I have all 3 on dvd. sadly I didnt make it to any of them when they went down.
