I use to be a huge fedor fan. I still am to an extent. I'd love for him to rack up some wins in the ufc but I just can't see it happening. I think for the longest time fedor got by because of his athleticism but now everyone is training with super athletes. Fedor's striking style is too predictable, you hardly ever see him throw combinations. HIs ground game is also very predictable, if he's in side control or half guard he's going for the kimura, if he's on his back, he's going for an armbar and like in the bigfoot silva fight, he relies on exploding to escape from bad positions rather than being more technical like a polished bjj guy. I really want him to prove me wrong. What do you all think?
To make up for those eggs he laid in SF
I'm intrigued especially in the non PED era.
I say that because I think it benefits Fedor. No way Bigfoot beats him now for example.
I think he will be top 10, but not able to beat the top few in the division. I know his fights will be exciting and the UFC needs all the HWTs it can get so I hope he fights soon.
i expect him to get destroyed by the guys who cut to 265.
He may be back at 205 don't count that out. I think he will look comparable to his last 3 wins before retiring. Maybe not prime but i still think he can compete, i would like to see him avenge the bigfoot loss, i think he can win that fight vs this bigfoot.
Basically become a HW Dan Henderson, knocking 50% out in the 1st, going through wars, and generally relying in experience, toughness, and power, and losing a few, unless he can really surprise us
Outstanding knitwear.
Give him his due when hes in the octagon then judge him.
Pain.
Love to see him at 205
Ktaco - Pain.Ha crap, someone always beats me to it. lol
I expect disappontment, and would rather him stay gone.
It actually pisses me off that the UFC gets him now so Dana can say See, Fedor sucked all along.
to get paid
I don´t think we will see the pre Werdum Fedor. I mean even in his last three fights which he won, he hestitated and didn´t move the way he moved in his other fights. The ability to adabt to be in the moment, was gone. Sadly......
To be honest, I have absolutely no idea anymore. 3 years ago I was saying Arlovski needs to hang up the gloves.
If he just put on a few entertaining fights, win or lose, my expectations would be met.
For some odd reason, many people here are stuck on this championship theme. WTF cares whether he becomes champion or not? DON'T YOU WANT TO BE ENTERTAINED?
love him
but i expect to be disappointed
I think he does fine if they use him correctly let him fight guys like Hunt,Mir or CroCop first before they put him in with some of the younger guys.
There are a lot of main or co main event fights for him as an attraction he doesn't need to be in title fights.
Fedor was the best in an organization where wins weren't as important as going out there and entertaining. And he still won. To expect him at his age to do it again, while nice, would be unfair with the layoff.
I would just like to see him go out there and put on a exciting fight win or lose. If he goes out there and gets wall and stalled or does it himself than I would wish he stayed retired. If he goes out there and just fights like the fedor of old than it was worth it.
