What do you think of this Ali/Khabib lunch? (pic)

good wholesome fun with the boys

Aren't Dagestanis pretty racist? Ali is a black dude, it's got to be kinda awkward. Nurmy's crew never seems to want to fuck with him.

Nah, he's Arabian isn't he? Or Iranian or something like that.

It's really not important - if his lineage is from anywhere remotely close to Mesopotamia he's likely revered by his Dagy pals. He's from the motherland and is, therefore, closer to the roots of their faith. Had his brown forefathers not brought Islam to Dagestan by the sword those goat herders would be lost for eternity having not seen the final revelation as brought forth by Mohammed.

Oh, no. They don't hate him. He's like their personal little Jesus who brings them money and social media likes. It's also nice to have a brown tour guide whilst on Hajj...

I don't think Dagestanis are racist at all. I mean, they would call blacks "negr" but not because they are looking to offend, they just do not have a PC culture. I don't think they have particularly bad feelings towards any race and if a person of color is Muslim he's their brother immediately.

“The Avars were a mostly Turkic group of people. We first hear of them living in Central Asia under the rule of the Rouran, in the 400s AD. The Chinese, who lived to their south-east, called the Avars the Juan-Juan. Like other Central Asian people, the Avars were nomadic horse-riders, who herded cattle.”

Juan-juan, also spelled Jwen-jwen, Jou-jan, Jeu-jen, or Geougen, Central Asian people of historical importance. Because of the titles of their rulers, khan and khagan, scholars believe that the Juan-juan were Mongols or Mongol-speaking peoples. The empire of the Juan-juan lasted from the beginning of the 5th century AD to the middle of the 6th century, embracing a wide belt north of China from Manchuria to Turkistan. They were allies of the Hephthalite, or “White,” Huns and were in continuous conflict with the Wei dynasty of northern China. In 552 the Turkish tribes living within the empire rebelled and, in alliance with the Wei, destroyed the Juan-juan. Many scholars believe that the Avars, who appeared in Europe in about 558, were remnants of the Juan-juan.

The origins of the (known to the Europeans) Avars of Europe were in the steppes of Mongolia. The Avars of Europe were not a “compact” racial group with common origins and language: on the contrary they were a federation or confederation of tribes of various origins. The two main ethnic “ingredients” of the Avar tribal confederation were probably the Juan Juan and the Hephthalite Huns, both originated from the old tribal union of the Hsiung Nu. During the second century BC and the first century AD, the Hsiung Nu formed a nomadic “empire” and clashed in a series of bloody wars with the Chin and Han Empires of China. The tribal union or to be more accurate, the Khaganate of the Hsiung Nu at its peak extended in the vast steppes from the Jaxartes River of Central Asia in the west to the Manchurian grasslands in the east, and from the borders of China and Tibet in the south to the limits of the vast Siberian forest in the north. The supreme ruler (monarch) of the Hsiung Nu was called shan yu, a title which was later replaced by the title khan or khagan, introduced by the Juan Juan. It has been supposed that the former (and earlier) title was a Turkic term and that the latter (and later) title was a Mongol one but there are many doubts on this theory (including the view of this article’s author). The term Khanateor khaganate comes from the title khan or khagan.

Khabib's apparently a descendant of Attila The Hun or those who fought along his side

Attila (fl. 434–453), Attila the Hun, was the ruler of the Huns from 434 until his death in March 453. Attila was a leader of the Hunnic Empire, a tribal confederation consisting of Huns, Ostrogoth's, and Alans among others, on the territory of Central and Eastern Europe
