What Exactly Are "Ready Pounds"??

The WEC ring announcer kept saying that the fighters weighed in at x
amount of "ready pounds".....What the hell are ready pounds??

ready = saying he is "strong" or "ready" to go.
you know, with his 144 pounds and all or however much he wieghed.

Another way of saying "an even" nu,ber for pounds when a fighter weighed in right at the limit, I think. Like, so-and-so weighed in at 145lbs/170lbs/185lbs.

My guess.

READY TO RUMBLE!

As a further example, Gabe Ruediger only had about 3 ready pounds and 160 non-ready, Fudgie-the-Whale pounds.

I think those were "Reddi-Whip" pounds doctorbrodsky.....

The Hand.....So you think they weigh them after the weigh-ins to get that
number....hmmmm

I can easily distinguish 'solid' pounds from 'flabby' pounds, but I don't
know my 'ripped' pounds from my 'ready' pounds.

"The Hand.....So you think they weigh them after the weigh-ins to get that number....hmmmm"

They do it in boxing, but 'm not sure that's what the announcer meant. I think he was just being colorful.
