What qualifications are needed to be a judge for the UFC? Is it based on each state athletic comission or are they UFC employees?
I think as long as you are willing to judge takedowns as the end all be all in MMA, then you are qualified to be a UFC judge.

UFC judge.
Hard work, determination, and catching a live greased chicken.
Must have no understanding of what winning a fight means
they look for obvious easy ways to score stuff like knockdowns and takedowns
I think the UFC chooses judges that seem very unqualified because they need guys that dont have ties to certain gyms and teams.
If you bring in a BJJ blackbelt then you gotta research his affiliations in case he's scheduled to judge a guy's fight that he may be biased on.
Thats still though no excuse for some of these boxing washout types that dont know what they even watching.
Study the art of water ballet and use that same judging system for the two guys in the octogon.
This gif from last year suddenly became topical again....
Athletic commissions dictate who can judge, who judges what events, etc. Same goes for referees. Orgs have nothing to do with it unless they're not running a sanctioned show.
lol @ that romoshop !

So what are the state qualifications? There must be some kind of standard, no?
who you know or who you blow. most guys i know of are grandfathered in. but i'm sure that's not every case.
