What Happened to Hughes G&P?

I thought he was supposed to KO Charuto, or G&P him. LOoked more like he was stalling and not landing any effective strikes,however he did get a few takedowns but none them were damaging. Even Joe Roagan gave 2 rounds to Charuto. I was watching The fight @ round table Pizza in Hi and MOnte Cox was there watching too and to be honest by the looks of the face he was relieved that Matt won. He was sweating throughout the fight. So for someone that is suppose to avenge his loss and come back strong and punish his next oppenent that did not happen. The most effective strike an elbow landed during the break/standup. I guess the UFC likes fighters that play it safe. Lay and pray snooze fest baby......

I am not saying Verissimo dominated, because it was close. Neither fighter dominated, infact even thuough I am biased I agree w/ results not w the scoring 30-27?? BUsheeeeeeeeet.

exactly thats what I'm saying. That is a where an offensive gaurd becomes a defensive one to because the "guy on top" had poor offense and good defense. Like I said earlier do you want a champ w/ good offense or better defense? I smell Ricardo Arona lay and pray.

Hahah another guy loses from trying to fight off his back and all the nutthuggers start crying about it. Figures when you think you are winning a fight when you fight like that too but everyone who doesn`t fight like that knows you really are losing.

Verissimo won for sure. Round one could have been 10 to 8 possibly. judges need to understand that a near submission is about the same as a near KO in many cases. Hughes did very very little in that fight.

I hear what you are saying, but after the first round, Hughes worked out of EVERY attempt by Verissimo. He didn't get any cinched in. I agree it wasn't 30-27, but Verissimo just laid there hoping to snag a submission. Surely points must also go to Hughes for successfully countering the submissions.
