They came scarily close during the GSP/BJ show, and that only had one title fight.
Coleman/Bonarr -- high probability of going the distance
Fitch/Thiago -- high probability of going the distance
Belcher/Akiyama -- high probability of going the distance
Henderson/Bisping -- virtually guaranteed to go the distance
GSP/Alves -- not much chance of going 5x5, but possible
Brock/Mir -- luckily virtually zero chance of going the distance. I'll be amazed if it makes it to the end of the second round.
But seriously, just imagine the shitstorm if this card gets cut off in the Brock/Mir fight. It would be a disaster of epic proportions.
coleman bonnar is on the undercard. They have 3 3 round fights scheduled, and then the 2 championship fights. Im just hoping we get to see some prelims.
I don't think this is one of those cards where you'll get to see 5 prelims, but I think they're hoping to get Jon Jones on there.
to my knowledge, coleman/bonnar is not on the main card
UFC.com has it as a prelim
Jon Jones has 2 ufc fights and 2 decisions, I doubt it will make it, but maybe he can get a finish. And yeah, there wont be many prelims shown even if fights end early because they have to have their product placements, movie promos and other time consuming crap.
" coleman bonnar is on the undercard."
I thought they said this week that it was making the main card for six total fights. Was that someone's troll? I guess I never really followed the story.
"If any show is going to run over, it will be the next Strikeforce card on Showtime."
That too. Three title fights in a two-hour slot. But on Showtime they can run over, on PPV I'm pretty sure they just cut it (a la Royce/Severn).
Likelihood of going to the distance on a scale of 1-10, with 5 being average.
Fitch/Thiago: 7.5, Fitch the obvious favorite is dominant, but not a great finisher.
Belcher/Akiyama: 7.5, Aki is too savvy to be finished and if he's not overly impressive as many UFC imports are, I predict neither will Belcher.
Henderson/Bisping: 10, Decision Dan vs. Pillowfist McTeatime. Unless Dan's chin has magnificently disintegrated recently due to age the only means I see this ending is with a stray Hendo haymaker which Bisping will be too wary of to fall for.
GSP/Alves: 3.5, ALlves has true KO power and if GSP can reliably get him on the ground this fight is not going the distance. Still a good chance for it to go past 3 rounds however, GSP will get caught early or wear Alves out and win it late.
Brock/Mir: 1, only way this goes the distance is if both guys gas out and lose the ability to hurt one another. Less likely to see this go all 5 rounds than Hendo/Bisping ending early.
All in all they'll fit everything in even if they have to rush the production, don't see much time if any for prelims unfortunately.

Yeah, it was from that troll blog, thread was up for about an hour before it was yanked.
ha
Never mind then, carry on.
Ah fuck then!
Coleman deserves to be on the main card of the 100th event for his early contributions, and Bonnar was voted #1 fight for his bout against Forrest.
I mean, come one.
This card - and us fans - deserve to see AT LEAST six bouts.
If they ran a real tight ship they could do it, even if several fights went the distance. But they choose not to... its 15 minutes into the PPV before the 1st fight starts.

Agreed. Forget all the prefight BS, most everyone has already seen all that on the countdown show and elsewhere. Just duplicating everything, get right to it and show what we will have paid for....FIGHTS!
What if Akiyama's sexiness overloads the cable feed ?
2012 will come early and the world will end, seriously get laid dude.
