I realize that 99% of people on the face of the earth are haters by nature, because it's in their DNA, but seriously what the fuck is the obsession with wanting to see guys get cut from the UFC?
After every single event, all anyone wants to talk about is who deserves to be cut.
Case in point, Pat Barry loses 2 fights in a row and all anyone wants to talk about is if he deserves to be cut or not. They don't talk about the fight, the big slam at the end, nothing. Just whether or not he "deserves to be in the UFC". Personally, I don't care if Pat Barry loses 10 in a row, I'd still pay to watch him fight. Which is convenient, because until I get back in the UFC, I will be paying to watch him fight.
Anyway, will someone explain to me what other people have to gain by someone they don't know, who's in a completely different career field than them, losing their job.
You didn't deserve to be cut, McCorkle is a fucking legend!
OP makes a good point. Dont root for blokes to lose jobs when jobs are scarce
ednzo777 - yea lets ignore losses! yeaaa!
fck quality yeaaaa! fuck it in its ass!
Spinning back fists from the guard while mounted in crucifix FTW!
That might be the single unfunniest post in the history of the UG. Seriously
you are right that some nerds here care more about hating and being negative shits than supporting and enjoying this sport.
however it became a hot topic when zuffa started cutting guys that should be in the ufc and kept guys that have no business being there.
Most people in that thread were saying Pat Barry shouldn't be cut?
So in other words people were respecting and making it clear that they appreciate Barry. The fact that people make threads like this is indicative of the UFC cutting people quickly and ruthlessly rather than MMA forum members hungry for heads to roll and people losing their job.

You know what, I hadn't thought about that, but it actually makes a lot of sense.
Come on Sean, it's not hard to see what the issue is here. Basement warriors don't realize these are real people who have families to feed that depend on them bringing home a paycheck at the end of the day.
Sure the job is awesome but at the end of the day, a fighter has to come home like anyone else and be able to provide for their kids to go through college and be successful and provide for themselves when they get older.
The reality of it is, if fighting doesn't work out for many of these guys, there could be a time where they are no different from any other family out there that has to decide between paying rent or the hydro bill.

I disagree - I got a slight chuckle from the spinning backfist from guard while mounted in crucifix.
Why are you against giving a new guy a job? Barry has shown no improvement. Let them hire somebody else.

you are everything wrong with mma fans today.

Should you get fired from your job because there is a new guy that should be hired?
I wonder if you would feel this way if you hadnt lost in the UFC and were still on the roster? Not taking a potshot at you, I'm just saying that if you were undefeated in the UFC and were enjoying success and fame at more than just the UG and serious MMA fan level, would you feel this way?

It works both ways. Barry is keeping another fighter from feeding his family by taking a UFC roster spot somebody else could have.

I'm not saying I'm for Barry getting cut, but to answer your above question: Entertainment, I suppose. Your "career field" straw man doesn't hold water. "Haters" don't want them cut so they have a shot at the job. They want them cut so someone better or more exciting or of a higher caliber will take their place on the UFC's roster and on the card of which people pay money to be entertained.
I'm not saying it's right, but I think it's the answer you'll get.
Yeah I agree... I hate seeing or hearing about guys getting the cut, but it is an MMA topic especially with the UFC cutting guys early and some later than others.
I know I hated hearing when Josh Neer got cut, whether he deserved to be or not, it's not my call but I always enjoy watching that dude fight no mater if he wins or loses...

So everyone should just keep losing and we never see any new faces? Sports cut people. It is competitive. You should lose your job if you can't do it adequately and don't show any improvement.

If I wasn't such a cheap asshole, I would have the ability to vote you down. And don't think I wouldn't do it!
