machida fights are either pretty amazing or total duds. so, one of those two options.

I really like Phil, but this is the worst possible match up for him.

I don't see Davis being able to close the distance to get Machida down and hold him there. That means he's left to strike with Machida and I think that makes it Machidas fight. Machida either ekes out the decision or David over commits and gets finished (probably less likely) at a guess.

Phil is highly underrated.

He's incredibly strong, agile, vastly improved his standup and his ground game is sick. Machida is going to have major troubles if Davis gets ground control.

The question is will Phil get frustrated by Machida's elusive standup, telegraph a takedown and either get a knee to the face or counter-punched into a KO.

I think he has a pretty good chance. I have this fight being pretty close. I think if Davis can close the distance he can get him down and keep him there.
