Politically, the Constitution is an amazing document. I love that it’s impossible for despots to take over. I really like being able to participate in the great States-as-Laboratories experiment at will. I like that energy is cheap. I feel lucky to have greater access to food, resources, & tech than most.
Socially, I love that the worst conflicts that typically arise with most of my fellow citizens can be resolved over some BBQ. I really like the music forms that started here. I like the Hollywood film machine. I feel lucky that atheism, mental illness, & alternate life generally aren’t automatically prison or death sentences.

The fact that we did a 180 from the way almost every civilization has ever functioned, with the elite/government/aristocracy leading and direct the people. Instead we say the people lead, we will have the freedom and responsibility to determine our own destinies and government is there only to serve us by providing the infrastructure and protection (legal and military).
This is why the liberal philosophy is so repugnant. It places government back in control as the driving engine of society and pretends that’s it’s something new and liberating. Truly it’s just a return to serfdom.
