What the anouncement really means

This means the Lorenzo will be the one that's running the company, not Dana. Maybe we'll see less of baldy and his shitty behavior, and more of a real executive that behaves like a person who's running a multi-billion dollar company should.

Goodbye crappy t-shirts and foul language, hello business suits and proper speech. Do you wanna be a fucking businessman?

 Already made this thread.

I'm not talking about the thread that the announcement sucks, I'm talking about the thread saying its an effective demotion for Dana, which it is.

crazycracker71980 - FOUL language! who cares! I dont give a damn about some one cussing. All it means is when I go to the bar Dana would be a kick ass guy to hang around. Unless your mormon or some other crazy cult that thinks if you drop the F-Bomb your gonna go to hell.

Except for one minor thing... if the UFC is to become like the NFL or the NBA they will need funding, partnerships with advertizers, and a mainstream family apeal. It's fine for Dana to drop the F-bomb for the average mongoloid UFC fan, but the sport has topped out under his guidance (though he did an awesome job). The UFC needs a real executive to take it to the next level.

What's so wrong about working at McD's? It's an honest living. Better than selling drugs or selling yourself to strange men like your momma does.

big fatso with a lame troll attempt. And McD execs make millions a year and don't drop the f-bomb at meetings. Somehow I doubt crazycracker has seen the inside of the boardroom though...

Sounds about right kot1k, let's just hope Lorenzo becomes the face for most things now.  Dana's a good character for the UFC but I'd like to see the company face be Lorenzo as it will in fact appeal more to the mainstream.

I think Dana should remain in the promoter role, and as the face of the company on Spike. As far as teh business side of things like capital raises and advertizing partnerships, I hope he stay the fuck away.

I'm very happy that Lorenzo sees enough potential in the sport to leave his casino spot and run the UFC.

we'll get some class back into the organization

For once, I agree with Hubris.

Rollo the Cat - Dana's "edgy" behavior has probably been good for the sport. He appeals to a younger, hipper crowd than you typical crusty, cigar smoking sports executive. I bet Dana is still the public face of the UFC even if Lorenzo does much of the work behind the scenes.

Basically, this gives Zuffa another option in their arsenal. They can pick Dana or Lorenzo for a job or interview depending on who fits it best.

Good point.

Cindy

kot1k... stop being an elitist w/ your comments.

i doubt you've seen the inside of the board room either.

if you did, you'd be too busy to post on a forum.

The reason the announcement was so "big" was because Dana thinks that what affects him affects everyone. Like any good dellusional meglomaniac would.

this is pretty huge IMO.

the UFC will lead the way to true global MMA. all the other pretender orgs will get a free ride on the UFC's hard work and efforts.
