I want to watch TV while I fall asleep, but the girl complains because she can't fall asleep with the volume up loud enough so I can actually hear the darned thing. I'm pretty tech inempt - what can I buy so I can plug in some earphones wirelessly and listen to the TV audio through ear buds/phones? It is basically a brand new Samsung TV, so it probably has the latest tech.
Oh, only certain models of Roku have the headphone jack in the remote. But I believe all of them can use the headphone jack on a smart phone using the Roku app
I bought a pair of wireless headphones for $20 that are just what you need the base plugs into your speaker out plugs and you just put batteries in the headphones.
They sell bluetooth transmitters on amazon for like $30.
They work well when they're working, funcionally it does what it's supposed to.
You plug it into the rca output on your tv and it connects to anything you want that has bluetooth. Sound quality, it's like a 7/10 compared to listening to headphones connected straight to your tv.
Or you could get an av receiver that has bluetooth capability. That'll set you back a couple hundred bucks.
1. Roku is like Amazon Fire no? Expensive, and I already have Fire. No real reason to buy it in this case no?
2. blas4ublasphemy, your $20 wireless headphones were not bluetooth correct? I just need to go to amazon and seach for wireless headphones, but some, plug the base into speaker out, put batteries in my headphones and its that simple?
3. I'mNotSuprisedMofos, bluetooth - it sounds like you are saying that just the regular wireless headphones might be superior sound quality wise - any reason not to just get them over bluetooth?
There is an app called Tunity. You can stream audio from live tv online and it has a way to adjust delay of audio to make it sync up. You just point camera at tv and it figures out what you are watching.

Thanks!
I've had 2 different sony wireless headphones, the quality is pretty good but they were like $90 & $120 bucks.
I bought some wireless headphones for like $30 a few years back and they were a real piece of shit. I like the bluetooth transmitter because you can connect whatever bluetooth headphones or earbuds that you want.
The quality of bluetooth transmitters might be improved since I bought mine during this past christmas.
A bit pricey, but excellent reviews and look like it has all that I could need. If this doesn't look like a wise choice for some reason please let me know quick! :)
