What UFC/MMA event made you a fan?

Idk if there is a thread on it already, but was there one particular event/fight card that got you hooked? For me it was UFC 100, the first event I ever watched. Phone Post 3.0

damn I hate threads that show my age lol

The movie Rocky got me into combat sports but Bill superfoot wallace got me hooked on kickboxing

I forget who he fought now but it was the first time kickboxing was on wide world of sports

*added*

Chuck vs Randy the first fight. Shortly after I discovered Pride and I couldn't stop watching. Phone Post 3.0

UFC 2 or 3, can't remember. I saw it in the "special interest" section at blockbuster. Never looked back until the internet became fast enough to be usable. Devoured Pride events after that.

Exactly this. Was UFC 2 for me... VHS at blockbuster. Phone Post 3.0

UFC 1. Like everyone I've been watching since then.

Stupid noob.

Actually I did watch the first UFC and was a fan. I was young though.

I became a real fan a lot later when BJ first started. Phone Post 3.0

Remeber Pat Smith elbowing that dude's face into the floor? I think he actually called himself a ninja!

I believe I am the only person in the world who the first MMA event I saw was UFC 27.

I watched UFC1 and 2 but more as a spectacle, not as a fan.

I was going to say Ultimate Fighter 1 Finale really made me a fan, but I watched the entire season and that wouldn't have happened if I wasn't already into MMA, so heck. I'm not sure. But that Griffin Bonnar fight definitely solidified it. Phone Post 3.0

I had watched the first few but I'd say I became hooked at UFC 8 David vs Goliath Phone Post 3.0

Read about the first UFC in Black Belt Magazine. Saw it for the first time with UFC 4, but it was UFC 6 - Clash of the Titans that completely sold me. One of the best cards/events ever, imo. (Oleg vs. Tank in the tournament final/ KShamrock vs Severn in the superfight).

I saw some stuff here and there, UFC 32 was first whole event I watched on VHS. I think sometime in 02?

First fight card I watched live was UFC 40

This would be cliche if it weren't true, but it was Royce>Ken at UFC1. I was a wrestling and boxing fan growing up, and I really didn't understand what happened when Royce submitted Jimerson, or Ken submitted Smith. When Royce RNC'd Ken I fell in love with grappling and submissions, and became a true "MMA" fan.

that was a major eye opener for me and buddies as to the importance of knowing how to defend yourself off your back. that was actually the mising peice of my personal fighting puzzle. I had a BB in Karate, took TKD, even Ninjitsu for bit as well, wrestled in high school, was into kickboxing and boxing, but Royce/UFC showed me what was missing. and Pat Smith and a beatin ninja showed how important ground fighting was as well!
