Was JDS in trouble at all? Was it a close fight?
Lots of people think miocic won. Tough call. Great fight.

I watched it again recently. Wouldn't have protested if miocic got the nod. Very close fight.
I disagree with it going either way, miocic did really good had jds in trouble and won the first two rounds clearly, then got tired and jds took over and won the last three, they may not have been quite as impressive rounds as stipes first two, but jds clearly won 3 rounds to 2 
So yes it was very close, but just not a fight that could've gone either way judging wise IMO.
Also jds didn't really show any improvement in stopping a Cain style gameplab, stipe just doesn't have the cardio that Cain does
Both landed good shots and it was back and forth for almost the whole fight. In the end I feel JDS cardio in the later rounds was the deciding factor.<img src="http://i.imgur.com/RymvNCW.jpg"
Stipe controlled the first half of the fight by exploiting Junior's poor footwork and ringcraft, consistently backing him to the fence and outstriking him there. However, Stipe seemed to have no answer for Junior's body punching, allowing Junior's cardio to persevere throughout the second half of the fight.
took this as an excuse to rewatch... round 5 was actually quite close, would have to watch it again to try to score
