What's a good suit cost these days?

And by "good", I mean something that won't fucking unravel as I walk in it.  I went to Men's Warehouse tonight, they were trying to sell me a $400 dollar suit.  Because I'm a frugal fuck, I passed on it, but as I was driving home, I realized that I knew nothing about suits.

I know there are many professional businessmen type OG'ers on here, so shed some knowledge over to the uninformed.

I've got an interview on December 2, I need a new suit.  Help me!

Go back and drop the 400. Get it tailored and kill that interview, hurry up!! Phone Post 3.0

The last two suits I bought were from men's warehouse. I walked out dropping 900. Phone Post 3.0

WTF? I bought 2 suits (nice ones) and a sport cost from Men's Wearhouse 1 month ago and spent 400 even. Phone Post 3.0

I'd glady spend $200, I feel that's a fair price for a full piece suit, but $400?  Sheeeit.  Homey don't play that.

Thanks to the OGer that showed me to Blacklapel.com that's where I'm getting my next suit Phone Post 3.0

My last one was $600. When it comes to suits, best pay a little more for something you like. My experience anyway. Had a few from MWarehouse and fuckn hate them cause they look and feel cheap. Phone Post 3.0

I just bought two very nice Chaps suits at Kohls, and was out the door for $330. I went by the Men's Warehouse and they wanted over $800 for basically the same thing.

The most i've spent on a suit was about 600.

I buy all my suits now at goodwill/ amvets.

20 dollars and the cost of tailor and nobody knows the difference, in fact i get just as many compliments on my goodwill as my sean john

Just had mine custom tailored in Chiang Mai. $250 Phone Post 3.0

Went to an outlet mall and picked up a Burberry 3 peice suit priced at $1000 for only $400.

Don't go to the local dry cleaner with some Korean lady in the back. Find a European tailor or go to a high end store like Nordstroms or Neiman Marcus. Since you didn't buy it there, they will charge you. But trust me. A great tailor can take an avg suit and make it look super sharp. Now if the suit is high quality, add some expert tailoring and you'll look like Daniel Craig in Casino Royale! Phone Post

they pretty much ALWAYS run the buy one /get one deal.
I bought 2 Mark Ecko suits that fir me AWESOME right off the rack, and are sharp looking suits regardless. Got them both for the price of the slightly higher one which was 350.
I also wanted a badass sport coat that was a 300 coat marked down to 99. I got the manager to knock that bad boy down to50.

All out- $400.

Whatever you are going to do move fast, December 2nd right around the corner.

Get something you feel comfortable in (meaning you are ok with the suit) and get it tailored ASAP.

Last minute stuff will rattle you when you should be focusing on the interview, and not worried about deadlines/being ready from store or tailor etc...
