exactly. He had his chance and couldn't cut it. I love that he tries to finish fights but He has no relevance in the UFC . Plus untill he can make it out of th first round without gassing i don't want to see him

The article says he is set to face Duane Ludwig in early 2009 for Strikeforce, and that he won his Sept. 26th bout against Olaf Alfonso, via Unanimous-Decison in the Palace Fighting Championship organization.
i guess he realised that being locked into a ufc contract where u only get to realistically fight 4x year for $15k each isnt as productive as being a free agent where u can travel teh world and fight essentially every 3-5 weeks if u stay healthy, fight a lower calibre of opponent (good or bad) and earn much more over the long term.
its not about the glory, its about getting paid sometimes. especially if u r realistic about your "career"

Get KO'd or gas would be my guess. I like the guy, seems like a good character (and like cleetdog said his wife is hawt), but don't think he has anything to offer the UFC at this time.
He's a monster at 170....better shape because of it and he kept his punching power..
I think there is a place for him in the UFC at 185. It's nowhere near the top 10 but he could still put on a good fight against a guy like Nate Quarry or Josh Burkman.

4/ 5 of his losses in the UFC were to Matt Lindland + Evan Tanner. Not exactly easy fights.

I'd pay to see Phil on any UFC card rather than some of the TUF "up and comers" that are on every card.
