What's with all the security warnings?

Ongoing for a week now, first it was McAfee warnings saying the site is unsafe, now it constant popups of update flash player or something else. The site is almost unusable in Internet Explorer. It seems better on Firefox but I still get the warnings now and then.

What is Internet Explorer?

OMG! Talk about memory lane!

I remember using that with MS Windows 3.11!

I really couldn't care less what browser I'm using. The technical jibber jabber of it all doesn't interest me. They both work and do what I need them to. It was recommended to me to install Firefox a while back to try and solve other problems I was having.

So is no one else having these warnings. Only happens on this site so I don't think it's something on my computer.

I'm using MS Security Essentials. McAfee was the default program when I bought the computer. It seems like it's just spam pop ups. "Update Java", "Update Adobe flash player", etc.

Just need to do a physical cleanup. For that you need DEMINERALIZED water and a quirt bottle. Java just means there is probably some sort of coffee residue on the motherboard or CPU, very similar to one of the coffee ring stains on your desk.

I get them on IE (at work) and chrome (at home)

Me too. Put in the Ad Blocker Plus extension and it said that 22 ads were blocked from this site right after install. Phone Post 3.0

Try avast or AVG.

Between using MS Security Essentials, McAfee, and Internet Explorer, you've got plenty of problems. Your statement that you don't care about what browser you're using or the "technical stuff" suggests that you will continue to have a lot of problems. Phone Post 3.0

I tried disabling adblock and ghostify on Chrome for this site and it slows down to a crawl.

Sometimes ghostify will block almost 30 pieces of crap that load with a page.  That's a bit much.

And who here likes threads for facebook?  Jesus.

All jokes aside I have tried to browse to this site using IE at a friends house and it was a nightmare.

Chrome + AdBlock makes it doable most of the time.

Your virus software is on bath salts. Phone Post 3.0

I keep reading these posts about people having problems on this site I don't run any ad blockers and all of my anti-spyware programs I keep turned off because I don't want them slowing my computers down. The only thing I have running at all times is AVG. I've never had a problem with spyware on this site.

My guess is you have that shit installed on your computers, it's not this site that's doing it. Also stop using Internet Explorer just use FireFox or Chrome.

I'd rather have a virus than McAfee or Norton. Phone Post 3.0
