Just watched a clip of Almeida vs Marquardt from Pancrase. Almeida finishs the fight when he locks a nice choke on Marquardt. Nate taps, then Renzo comes into the ring, kicks him in the face and hits him.
Does anyone know the back story as to why this happened?

Just to add to this for those that do not know, after a minute or so, Nate hugs both Almeida and Renzo. So what ever happened seems to have been resolved straight away. I would still like to know why Renzo did what he did?
Ok hate to answer my own question, but I just watched it again carefully, and Nate actually hits Almeida in the face after he releases the choke. Its kinda hard to see, but it looks like Renzo sees this and straight away kicks Nate of Almeida.

just to repeat, Almeida held the choke eventhough nate was tapping and ref was trying to get almeida to release and while at it, almeida even sticks hes tongue out and looks all cool at the crowd.
When he did release nate punched him for it and renzo jumped in and kicked nate.
That about it, they did shook hands afterwards.

almeida was a dick for that. he deserved to be slugged if that's true. nates folks should have jumped in as well. guy holding the choke after the tap and then showboating? and when you retaliate his coach jumps in? should have turned into an all out brawl
well i have the whole fight, its about 170 mb file. Dont have anything to cut it up with right now

Its also fucked up on Renzo's part.
That being said, Nate should be a pro and not have hit him EVEN after he kept the choke on after the tap.
No reason in holding a submission after a guy tapes. You win, let it fucking go!
