That stand he took against "The Man" didn't seem to turn out so well. After his laughable performance against Nate Quarry, Starnes has gone 4-5 and is 0-3 in his last 3 fights. He announced his retirement in June 2011, but came back last year to take another loss to Doerkson. He now serves as an example to many young fighters not to bite the hand that feeds you.
Did he do better or worse when leaving the UFC? I will give you a hint. It was a lot worse.
