Season 4 was the second half of book 3.  I think they've recognized that GRRM is slow as fuck, and so they're slowing it down. I could see four more seasons out of the remaining 2 books.  Book 3, however, is the best in the series

Yes.  Read the books.  The show misses SO much that makes the story great.  It's a very cool show, but the intrigue, history, speculation about what will happen, etc is all missed if you only see the show.  Start at the start

season 5 will be good. so many good story arcs, a few new ones as well.
