Just to note also, it’s not like they lose a heap of weight in Ramadan - they are eating shitloads of calories early in the morning and as soon as sun goes down. I respect their discipline but I dont know of any other muslim athletes needing 6 month lay off post ramadan. Most of the football players just continue through and they are playing 90 minutes

Weird Ramadan didn’t stop Belal from training or taking a Co-Main event spot taking place this weekend… what about the last 6 months before Ramadan? No fights scheduled during that whole time or for the foreseeable future. Sounds like he is making excuses or is possibly suspended.

Because when you tell everyone what you plan to do you get satisfaction and pride out of everyone knowing, but then because you’ve already experienced the pride and sense of accomplishment from talking about it you are no longer driven to actually complete it.
That’s Chimaev. Storms the scene, talked huge, got so much love and notoriety. Why does he need to actually do shit now? He gets to do whatever he wants now, pretend to be a contender without climbing the ranks or fighting, don’t bother making weight because you’ll be rewarded anyway.

I think Belal will win fans over in the end. I listened to his Rogan episode and he seems a genuinely good guy that just wants to fight against the best. Couple of exciting fights/finishes and he could be a big star. Burns fight could be a barn burner (I hope it is)
