Not sure if kids go but Scampo is awesome and it's inside an old jail turned into a hotel which is cool.  You said east of Boston common so you won't be far at all

https://scampoboston.com

i always find a reason to go to one of the locations of Flour Bakery as well.  How old are your kids?

Night shift brewing near TD garden has gotten great reviews and they have kids menu too

Between 7 and 10.

Are you taking them to the children's museum? I've been so many times but my kids really loved it at that age

Yes!!

SeattlesbigDprolapsedME - On the north end, there is an Italian Deli that has the best sammiches, ever. Id have to look up the name, but thats not gonna happen

Bricco Salumeria has great sammiches if that's the one you're thinking of

Legal Seafood.

Youre welcome.

Thats it! Thank you, Pratty.

I was not all that excited that we were visiting Boston, and about to have a deli sandwich.

I went back before we left because it was so good. My sister in law had made a comment before we left site seeing that day, that we HAD to get an Italian from this place…and I have loved her ever since.

Honorable mention to the Bleacher Bar under Fenway Park. They have a really good Cuban Sandwich that is cheaply priced.

I loved the Seafood, the lobster rolls, the pub food, and the rest of the popular things there, but those 2 sandwiches are still my favorite things I had there.

You're not too far from Coppa in the South End, will not disappoint

Not sure when you're going but speaking of Flour Bakery, there's one a street away if you go to museum during breakfast or lunch time.  If you like beer, Trillium's gigantic brewery/restaurant  is a minute walk away and also has kids menu.

If you're a pizza fan go to Regina's in the North End.

^ the org location. Other location good, but not as good.

There's ALWAYS a line. I always order to go and eat in the car. You might??? get a seat at the bar.

Out of all the "best of boston" type articles about the best pizza joints (i've tried maybe 5), regina's is the only one I like. I stopped trying other places, since i'm more than happy with their pie's.  Grew up in north jersey where pizza from my home town was always the best I've tasted from around the country (only found a small handful of places in NYC that i eve liked). I'm talking about from like the 70s when 1st or 2nd generation italians still owned/made pizza

Good call on antico forno for north end

faneuil hall is tourist trap.  Walk a couple blocks to the Boston public market next to haymarket T stop.  The back of that is greenway and across that is the north end so can't go wrong.

best chowda i ever had was in FH

Legal Seafood.

Youre welcome.
