Which LA-area Armenian club has the best judo?

In terms of younger guys, the main schools being represented at tournaments are:

* Kenam's (Glendale)

* Hayastan (North Hollywood)

* YMCA Scholars (Glendale)

* Glendale Fight Club (ummmmm......Glendale)

I have never visited any of these schools. Anybody have any opinions/knowledge/experiences of how the quality of training is at any of them?

Probably only OTJTC can help with this.

jbb,

I've only been to Hayastan and that was in the 90's.

I will say this. I think that Hollywood Judo Dojo has quietly built a pretty strong adult program over the last year or so. I met the head instructor and some assistants at our Neil Adams clinic last year. Very nice guys.

I looked at their website a couple of weeks ago and saw that they were now training five nights a week. In addition, they brought a pretty large contingent of adults to the Winter Nationals last week and they did very well.

Let me give them a little bit of exposure with a link to their website:

I cut and pasted Hollywood's schedule off that link:

Monday
7:30 - 9:30 pm (Adult Class)

Tuesday
6:00 - 7:00 pm (Kids Class - 1st and 3rd Tuesdays, every month)
7:00 - 8:30 pm (Adult Class. Members only.)

Wednesday
7:30 - 9:30 pm (Adult Class)

Friday
7:30 - 9:30 pm (Adult Class)

Saturday
1:00 - 2:30 pm (Adult Class. Members only.)

I don't know of any dojos operating out of Japanese cultural/community centers that offer that many training sessions. Even Tenri only has 3 practices a week as far as I know. Many dojos offer just 2 sessions a week.

Good for Hollywood.

Once again OTJTC comes thru. This forum would be history without you.
