Nowadays a lot of guys come from all over to train there. Back in the day is when those gyms were more likely to be filled with local guys I’d imagine

Massachusetts:
Lauzon brothers, Florian, Gonzaga, Ricardo Funch, Jon Manley, Jon Howard, Jorge Rivera, Rob Font, Calvin Kattar, (I'm forgetting a bunch)
Schools: Sityodtong, Lauzons, Florians, SSSF, Team Link
On a SideNote -Massachusetts:
Lauzon brothers, Florian, Gonzaga, Ricardo Funch, Jon Manley, Jon Howard, Jorge Rivera, Rob Font, Calvin Kattar, (I'm forgetting a bunch)

After I fought Peter Barrett I went to sityotong to train. I love that place
Are you talking about people who are from a state or trained there? Training locations change, but New Mexico has influenced a lot of champions. As far as what state has the best fighters born in it, I think California and NY have to be up there but if you think about population density Minnesota and Michigan deserve a lot of credit.
A state of poverty.Â
Hawaii definitely punches above its weight: two all-time greats in BJ and Max. Other high quality fighters like Browne, Tavares, Noons, Smolka and Yancy.

I totally agree thats a great argument. Sounds like I’m cheering for the home team, but CA is a massive state of course they’ll have the largest amount of fighters. For a small state MA has produced not only great homegrown fighters, but also how many fighters had rebirths after going to see Mark Dellagrotte at Sityodtong to improve their striking? The list is massive.
I suspect the Midwest has a few states that are up there for for the top spot too.
