I mean. Probably. Anyone who's read the New Testament can see clearly thatJesus of Nazereth was a socialist. And not a democo socialist. But a socialist.
I'm agnostic. Really don't a dog in this fight but yea Sanders (philosophically) has some core beliefs with Jesus.
Now Christ (anointed one, messiah) I don't see Sanders fitting that bill.
.... But they were both Jewish too. Huh. Phone Post 3.0

"Who would Jesus vote for? Maybe Bernie

Yes, Bernie Sanders is Jewish.

While other Democrats have gotten religion in recent years, testifying to their faith in Jesus as savior and Lord and yoking their public policy views to biblical quotes, Bernie has largely stuck to the Jeffersonian line that religion is a private matter.

When The Washington Post pressed him last month, he said, “I think everyone believes in God in their own ways.”

As a scholar of American religion, I know I am supposed to take Sanders at his word, slot him as a secular Jew who is, as he put it, “not particularly religious” and leave it at that. Even so, I cannot shake the sneaking suspicion that he is the most Christian candidate in the race.

It must also be remembered that Jesus was a Jew"---

Is this an original thread?

I'm tired of the same old HaterCorps forgery threads.

"Sanders cited Jesus on the golden rule in Matthew 7:12. He also quoted from an Old Testament passage often quoted by Martin Luther King Jr.: “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream” (Amos 5:24).

These two texts lent Sanders the bookends of his speech, morality and justice, which he said had to a great extent gone missing in a country that “worships not love of brothers and sisters, not love of the poor and the sick, but worships the acquisition of money and great wealth.”

That sounds like Pope Francis, whom Sanders has repeatedly lauded. It also sounds like the Christian faith

the historical Jesus bears almost no resemblance to the American Jesus conjured up in the late 1970s by the religious right"----

yes this is an ORIGINAL thread. It is NOT some plagiarism thread created by a PARASITE with MULTIPLE accounts from his parental basement.

"But when it comes to the Christian imperative of helping the poor and the sick and the needy — all fundamental elements of Jesus' preaching — Sanders, more than anyone in the race, speaks about government having a moral obligation to help those in need. In promoting the deeply Christian principles that are actually germane to governing a country, Sanders is talking the Jesus talk better than his Christian rivals."----

BTW - didn't someone do this thread a couple months ago?

it is reasonable that after an acceptable amount of time people may discuss again what had been discussed before it is a regular human habit.

I don't want to be a jerk human so I respectfully used forum search function before I made this thread.

the most recent similar discussion was my ORIGINAL thread which corrupt MODS allowed to be ruined by some miserable parasite

Jesus wouldn't vote for any of them because he'd consider them all wankers.

Bernie fans are the Twilight readers of politics. No matter what, they defend their poorly written, shitty fanfiction. Phone Post 3.0

this is an intelligent post.

So why do you think the religious right has not achieved the same realization of your posting?
