 NPD is a fag!

MK style "Finish him" Phone Post

Was it me or was Dana in a really good mood. I liked that interview. And I'm glad Ariel asked about mayhem. Phone Post

How about fixing the judging?

He says the opposite when he has no rooting interest or is favoring the fighter who lost. Then he rants and raves about the judges and says it's the biggest issue in the sport.

He didn't want Frankie or Lombard to win because of how unexciting they fought and it would have been worse for the UFC big picture had they won. Frankie was a non-marketable champ tying up the division for a long time and Lombard was transferring over from their #1 competitor.

Then when it's McGee-Ring, Omigawa-Elkins, etc. then he's up in arms.

He's one of the most blatantly full of shit people in sports.

Didn't UFC have issues with major sports apparel companies like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour in the past; preferring MMA-based brands like Tapout, Affliction because the major labels didn't initially support MMA? I guess money always wins.

Lol dana

Crooked

Such a stupid argument. It's not frankie's fault that there are incompetent judges. Phone Post

pfft... whatever Dana... your sport is broken fix it

what are you talking about?

first of all, i'm pretty sure dana thought edgar won. you can tell from how he doesn't want to talk about it and the "i'm not a judge" comments etc.

second of all, ben henderson is a terrible champion. for some reason people don't care much about him. not sure why but i'm pretty sure frankie has a much much bigger fan base. especially cause of his italian side.

third of all, the reason he doesn't go off on the judges is because it was a title fight. and a rematch as well. the only outcome if he was to complain would be a third rematch which they do not want. he wants to drop this as soon as possible and move on.

You know what? Why not?

They're supposed to be professionals. Let's pick ANY other profession. Should you not leave them to what they are supposed to be proficient in? Should I not leave the medical practice to the doctors? The electrical work to the electricians? The engineering to the engineers?

The problem is:

1. Boxing is corrupt and invented a system that no other sport uses (except kickboxing which borrowed it): 10 point must system. EVERY sport in the world, you accumulate points in an OBJECTIVE manner. Boxing is corrupt so built a system with corruption built in: the 10 point must system. MMA in a desperate attempt to be accepted adopted this corrupt system. Now that it can stand on it's own, we need to do what soccer, football, baseball, fencing, wrestling, judo, basketball, hockey, tennis, golf, etc does: accumulate points for ACTIVITY. Boxing is the only sport to differ. Why does MMA continue to use an adopted system based on corruption?

2. There apparenly is no minimum requirement to be a judge. In place should be an established curriculum, educational system, and requirements to be an MMA judge. Because you know 400 katas like Cecil Peoples, doesn't mean you are qualified. There should be a process, with licensing requirements.

the_shrike -  so fucking tired of that statement

not every fight is going to be finished; really even fighters who are hard to finish will more than likely go to a decision here and there.

its up to the judges to get it right

^ this!

You gonna tell Shogun and Hendo "don't let it go to the judges"?

Muthafucka did it look like either of us was even trying to let it go to the judges????

Please.

But yeah instead of getting this shit right let's just put it on the fighters.

easier said than done Dana.

The fighters did their jobs...the fucking Judges should do theirs.

PROPERLY.

We'll see if Edgar finally learned his lesson.

Well said. It's simply not realistic to expect every fight to end either by KO or submission. In the absence of the above, it's incumbent upon the judges to assign points correctly to determine the rightful winner. That being said, Edgar/Henderson II was a close fight, and I could see it going either way. I thought Edgar did enough to win, however.

"Dont leave it to the judges" is one of the stupidest sayings around. I suppose Edgar or Bendo should have tried a reverse somersault spinning kick at the end of R5 cause they know judges in the UFC suck?

Is this a sport or what?

Are the fighters expected to finish every fight at every level?

Dana felt about dissing Mayhem. I know the feeling. Phone Post

Lol you guys act like he pays the judges and work for him. I'm sure if Dana wanted to he would fix the judging so he doesn't have to deal with some much headaches. And its not only the judging in the ufc, even in bellator, fuck it even pride and dream had fucked up decisions worse than last night. With that being said Frankie won, and stupid judges screwed him. We need to bitch at the AC for hiring boxing judges. Phone Post
